Family Housing Resources, Inc. (FHR) was established in 1991 as a statewide organization dedicated to providing low and moderate income individuals and families an opportunity to obtain quality, affordable housing through both rental and homebuyer support programs.

FHR is one of the largest and most respected affordable housing providers/servicers in Arizona. Through ownership of 12 apartment properties totaling over 2,200 units, FHR is committed to increasing Arizona’s affordable housing stock through acquisition, rehabilitation and development of multifamily properties. In addition, FHR has assisted over 8,000 individuals and families during the last 10 years in achieving the American Dream: homeownership.

FHR operates three major housing divisions – Housing Counseling Services, Single-Family Mortgage Revenue Bond Programs, and Multifamily Residential Services.

Housing Counseling Services

FHR provides individualized counseling sessions for all potential homebuyers interested in better understanding the homebuying process. Our staff of experienced counselors provides expertise in such areas as budgeting and building credit to researching lenders and qualifying downpayment assistance programs. Homebuyers interested in more comprehensive information, including foreclosure prevention, may participate in a monthly FHR Homebuyer Education Workshop.

Single-Family Mortgage Revenue Bond Programs
FHR provides several mortgage financing options to low and middle income families throughout Arizona. Because these programs offer fixed-rate mortgage loans with low interest rates and generous downpayment assistance, mortgage revenue bonds remain one of FHR’s most popular products.

Multifamily Residential Services
FHR provides quality, affordable rental units at below-market rates to the people who need them most – low income families and service workers who provide vital assistance to our community. In 2001, the agency initiated a $7 million renovation and remodeling project. By 2007, all FHR apartment communities will have received new paint, roofs and asphalt parking areas. Select properties will also install storage facilities, new business centers and playgrounds.
